In Macauley’s first interview with Hub media on the Valio Adelaide 500 weekend. He talked through his favourite part of the Adelaide street circuit, his plans for the 2024 season and the difficulties of driving a supercar in the wet.

Over 4 massive days, two champions were crowned and over 260 thousand people lined the track situated in the Adelaide East Parklands. A week has passed since the Adelaide 500 and with the champagne dried and the circuit being dismantled, it’s time to reflect on a weekend full of action. Adelaide had two championships needing to be decided and with 25 cars on track across the weekend. It was an event not to be missed, especially for those located in the festival state.

Living in a country town means I have been lucky enough to grow up doing sports my whole life. I have tried 10 different sports so far, and I’m currently doing Free G and basketball. This year I started going to my local YMCA gym everyday to workout. This has improved my mental health so much, and I have become more confident in myself.

Over the past decade, there has been an increase of interest for female sports, for instance the growing popularity in Women’s AFL, Women’s basketball and the upcoming Women’s world cup for soccer. However, there is a rising issue in the differences in payment between female and male athletes.
