Feeney extends Championship Lead

Broc Feeney was at his brutal best as the Supercars lit up the streets of Adelaide on Saturday afternoon.

“I’m stoked with today, it couldn't really have gone much better,” said Feeney, post-race.

Lining up alongside rookie Aaron Cameron, it was the young Mustang driver jumped to the lead into turn four, as Feeney slipped behind Ryan Wood.

“I knew he (Cameron) was going to race me pretty hard,” said Feeney.

“He was pretty much at my rear into turn one and I sort of just made the corner, I still launched over the curb, he's obviously having a crack.”

Feeney quickly started battling engine issues in the opening laps, the championship leader reporting over the radio that his “engine was cutting out.”

“I think it just cleared itself miraculously,” said Feeney.

“It was to be honest probably three laps into the race it just it just started like cutting out and the worry for me was it just kept getting worse and worse.

“I could sort of manage it, I wasn't dropping like seconds a lap.

“I was literally just waiting for the motor to blow up.

Meanwhile, Cameron’s early charge was short-lived, as he put his car out of contention with a mammoth whack into the wall.

Further back, Chaz Mostert looked racy all afternoon, as he moved from 12th to 10th in the early stages, but a move past Thomas Randle on the main straight stopped his charge when he drove into the Tickford driver. He ended up on the grass, second behind the #55 Mustang.

With just laps left at the end, Mostert was in third, in an amazing display of driving. His car damaged as Wood and Mostert swapped position at the end of the race, sighting that the #2 car had engine issues.

“It's good to go on to the final day and still being in with a shot,” said Mostert.

“I made it pretty hard for myself today, starting 12th and had to do a lot of battling out there.”

The other championship contenders, Kai Allen and Will Brown, engaged in a fierce late battle which saw Brown’s car sustain damage into turn five on the third to last lap.  The Red Bull was undrivable, as Brown had to battle to keep his car on the track, but Allen would stay behind.

Out in front, Feeney drove a masterful race, as he placed one hand on the 2025 Supercars Championship trophy.
