Sunday Supercars
Twenty Seven, that’s the number of drivers that have become supercars champion since the inception of the sport.
In qualifying to start Sunday’s processions, the championship protagonists, Will Brown, Broc Feeney, Kai Allen, and Chaz Mostert all made their way into the top 10 for the shootout.
Allen was the last of the top four to put his car into the top 10, his final lap 1:19:514, about 0.01 seconds ahead of Cameron Hill in eleventh, a lucky escape for the young man looking for his maiden championship at the first time of asking.
Feeney was second, just under 0.05 away from Walkinshaw Andretti United’s Ryan Wood, who’s found some excellent results to finish of season 2025.
It was a much better result for Brad Jones, with Andre Heimgartner and Macauley Jones’ into the top 10 shootout in fifth and sixth.
They weren’t the only shock entries, with the new kid on the block, Jayden Ojeda, finding his way into ninth from PremiAir Racing.
Meanwhile, after recovering to eight on the road yesterday, Cam Waters will have another tough task ahead of him after qualifying 22nd, behind American Austin Cindric.
Yesterday’s hero, Aaron Cameron, qualified 24th, unable to recreate yesterday’s magic moments.
In the top 10 shootout, it was Broc Feeney who produced a masterous lap to put it pole.
His first sector didn’t look nice on the eye, but it was super lap from the Queenslander, as he moved his Chevy ahead of Matthew Payne.
Mostert had a much better time of qualifying on Sunday after a disaster on Saturday, putting his car on pole for a large majority of the session, before Payne, Feeney, and Wood found better times.
“That was nice, the car was really good,” Mostert said, after his lap.
Kai Allen improved his spot by one after just squeezing into the top 10, while Will Brown will start the race in eighth.
