The Pre-Race Chat before the Insane Final
Entering a Race of Champions Final against Sebastian Loeb, Chaz Mostert stopped and talked to Hub Adelaide ahead of the massive clash.
“Blown away I’m in the final, I can’t believe it,” Mostert began.
“I know I’m against a guy, that’s done everything, won everything.
“He’s a natural at this cars. I’m gonna do my best for Australia, let’s see how I go.
“I just can’t believe there’s an Australian flag and my name’s on it in the final.
Chaz Mostert reflected on how the week and been leading up to this point;
“I was such a last minute addition for this race. It’s been so much fun, yesterday and Thursday. It’s been really fun and challenging,” said Mostert.
“The circuits’ been really cool, so have the cars.
“I’m just having so much fun. It was really cool racing with Will [Brown], really cool racing with Sebastian [Vettel].
“I was worried about yesterday, just getting out the group, we did that, made it to the semis.”
The atmosphere at Accor Stadium was brilliant on both nights, and Mostert gave thanks to the Australian public;
“It’s been really cool, not a lot of people have actually seen this type of festival live,” Mostert said on the crowd.
“You can see it on the parade tonight. They’ve been really cruisy, but when you’re an Aussie and you get the heat win, the crowd goes nuts.
“I’ve always wanted to know what it feels like to be a footy player on the field, part of these massive stadiums, and feel that instant euphoria when everyone goes up together.
“Race cars, and race tracks, only do that on the last corner, but to have a stadium full is something really cool.”
