Randle and Wood Collision Rocks Saturday at Supercars
Thomas Randle and Ryan Wood were working their way back through the field on Saturday.
However, they both collided after the Castrol entry was caught battling McCauley Jones.
“I just passed McCauley around the outside of four and then went into five and Woody hit the back of our car and sent us into the fence,” said Randle.
“It was a bit disappointing because we were having a good run.
“I’m just gutted for the team because now they have to fix the thing for tomorrow because we're starting off the front row.
“The damage probably could have been worse.
“I spoke to Woody, and he didn't mean it but it's just a shame.”
It wasn’t the only time that the Supra and the Mustang had made contact, with the two making contact in qualifying on Saturday morning.
“I don't think he was unhappy with me (in qualifying),” said Randle.
“They had a technical issue and then he went to do a lap and got traffic.
“I think he was just frustrated and I was the closest car to him, there's no bad blood there.
“It's just we managed to be involved in two things today.”
The Tickford entry will start from the front row tomorrow, and Randle peeled back the curtain between sessions.
“I felt like I drove a very similar lap,” said Randle.
“We just did a few things to the car between the sessions and the thing was hooked up.”
