Want to contribute?

Hub welcomes submissions from all South Australian young people aged 15 to 22. We’re looking for original and authentic content that has been created with care. Please always check your work for ease of reading before submitting.

We encourage you to submit pre-existing work that you think would be a good fit for Hub, or write a new piece specifically for Hub. Alternatively, please email us on hubadl.com@gmail.com if you have an idea but need some support to create a full piece.

Here are some suggestions of the kinds of content we love:

  • Short stories

  • Art

  • Opinion pieces

  • Explainers of current affairs

  • Poems

  • Interviews with young creatives (musicians, artists, actors, photographers, etc.)

  • Band and artist profiles (if you’re a solo artist or band, please contact us!)

  • Reviews/first impressions of video games

  • Photos and a written description of youth events

  • Reports on sports games (any level, any sport)

  • Articles describing your experiences doing something cool (e.g. performing in a Fringe show, playing in a grand final, learning to scuba dive).

Guidelines

  • Contributors must be aged between 15 and 22 to submit their work. 

  • Any submission containing content that is discriminatory, encourages crime or violence, is pornographic, or is otherwise overtly offensive will not be accepted at the discretion of the Hub editing team. 

  • Any content that the audience might find distressing must be flagged with a content warning at the beginning of the piece. Video content must have a two second warning embedded in the beginning of the video.

  • Submissions must be the work of the contributors. Collaborative work is accepted, but all members must be credited and 50% or more of the group must be between the ages of 15 and 22.

  • Accompanying images to written pieces must have artist credits attached.

  • Submissions that have been previously published elsewhere will not be accepted, however, there is no exclusive restriction on any author’s right to publish their work elsewhere in addition to hubadl.com

  • Please follow the recommended submission length:

    • Written - 250 to 1000 words

    • Video/song - 5 mins.

  • Hub will not publish your email address alongside submissions. You can request that your piece is published with your first name only or anonymously.
