Courtney Crashes as New Contender Emerges
A Red flag interrupted Practice 2 in the Melbourne SuperSprint as James Courtney put his Ford into the wall.
“It’s not pretty,” Courtney began.
“As soon as I turned it, it just snapped super aggressively.
“We’ll rebuild it and have a crack later this afternoon.”
The incident happened when Courtney was trying to find the limit, unfortunately for him, he found that limit and went way passed it. Damaging the back left of the car and leaving his mechanics a 66-minute window by the time the remains ended back in pit-lane to get the car out for qualifying.
Elsewhere, PremiAir have had a very strong start to the weekend. James Golding was fastest before Courtney’s crash, and although there was six minutes to go when the session went green again, it was Golding’s lap that saw the charts purple.
Elsewhere, it seems the Red Bulls have improved, with both Broc Feeney and Will Brown finishing second and third, while Cameron Waters and Thomas Randle were both still outside the top 10 at the end of practice.
