I’m in Trouble: Nick Percat’s Adelaide 500 Practice
Nick Percat was one of the many who got caught out by turn one’s tire bundle. Despite this, he was able to finish third in Thursday’s practice.
“I turned in that early, I completely f***d it up,” Percat reflected.
“My one job from the team pre-session was ‘do not hit the tyre bundle.’”
Percat admitted that the front bar was new following the Gold Coast 500.
“[On the Gold Coast] it was completely destroyed underneath and from then on that last couple of laps was like a lot of conserving through turn eight because you don’t want it to fail.
“It’s a credit to the boys, they’d done a lot of work after Gold Coast, we had a bit of damage the last three rounds. Credit to them to roll out onto the track and it was great fun.”
Percat put forward his hopes for the rest of the season, stating that he wants to win in Adelaide.
“I want to finish in the top half of the championship. I might have slipped away in the Enduros, which happens. I think we can have a good weekend. I think my best ever result is seventh.”
