Concert Etiquette

With the warmer weather hitting, drawing people out to concerts, and the music festival season around the corner, the HUB team have decided to share some of their tips and tricks about good concert etiquette so that you and your fellow concert-goers can have the best time possible.

1. Respect people’s space.

If someone clearly has a spot in the crowd, don’t push in front of them or squash them. They have probably waited a while to get that spot and there is plenty of room for everyone.

2. Take your hat off.

If you're really tall and the concert is indoors/in the evening, take your hat off so it's not blocking other people's view.

3. Don’t sit on people’s shoulders.

Sitting on people’s shoulders is annoying, blocks people’s view and can be dangerous if you fall.

4. Signs are a fun thing to make and bring but don’t hold them up for the majority of or the whole show.

There are people behind you who also paid for their tickets!!!

5. While capturing moments on your phone at concerts is tempting, limit your phone usage to avoid obstructing others’ views.

Excessive recording can detract from the live experience for both you and fellow attendees. Enjoy the performance in real-time and consider taking a few photos or short videos without holding your device up for extended periods.

6. Make friends with people around you.

If you’re nice to them they will be more likely to accommodate you - especially if you’re alone and need to go to the toilet, get a drink, feel unsafe, etc. Just be mutually respectful.
