Bottas and Cadillac

It’s been a big 12 months for Valtteri Bottas.

Since he last participated in the Adelaide Motorsport Festival, the 10-time F1 Grand Prix winner became, along with Mexican Sergio Perez, the first drivers signed to Cadillac's Formula 1 team.

Bottas said that it could be a testing start to life in Formula 1 for the new team, saying that they don’t have a fast car yet.

“It's going to take a lot of work,” he said to the packed Grand Marquee.

“We are working hard to solve the issues, but issue by issue, we’re solving the problems.”

Bottas had a positive outlook on the regulations ahead of 2026, suspecting it won’t be as bad as some suspect.

The Finn also mentioned that he would love to see F1 return to Adelaide, a question that continues to be asked now that the SA Government has secured the Moto GP from its Victorian counterparts from 2027.

Bottas, now 36, has begun considering life after F1.

The honorary Australian could be on the grid for the country’s biggest race, signaling that he was interested in competing in the Bathurst 1000.
